ABOUT THE BOOKS

The series revolves around a legend that has to do with a time paradox. This allows me to write each book as if the other books never happened. Each book is a new beginning and a new ending but never the same story. I’ll try to explain.

No matter what century or what worlds exist, the priestess will be born with the guardian heart crystal inside of her. The five brothers who protect her and the crystal will seek her out… so will the enemy. The crystal itself is the key to each book. It has the power to turn the world to complete darkness or total light.

You can think of it one of two ways; a doomsday device that can destroy us all or the miracle that can save the entire world. It depends on the reader as to why it was created to begin with. I decided not to go into detail on that part of it because of the paradox.

The story changes with each book but the legend remains the same. Now, because of the time paradox, it can sometimes open doors to other dimensions; alternate realities if you will. Those alternate realities will possess the crystal but the story will change as to what, where and why; the ‘who’ never changes. No two worlds are exactly the same. That’s the basic idea with the Guardian Heart Crystal Series.

Each book is a new world you’ve never seen before and never will again. The one constant that never changes in the books is the crystal, the priestess and her guardians.

Now, the guardians themselves are a joy to write. Not that the rest of the book isn’t, but the guardians actually hold a special place in my heart. The guardians are brothers who have sworn an oath to protect the priestess that possesses the crystal. They act just like normal brothers would. They argue, they fight, they love and they experience jealousy on almost dangerous levels sometimes. All five of them are in love with the priestess and they all have attributes she loves about them in return. In the books you will actually see them compete for her affections. It’s very difficult to settle on which one will finally get to ‘keep’ her.

Just like every other story, there is a bad guy; someone to rain on the parade. The villain, for lack of a better word, is evil incarnate. He wants to possess the crystal, the priestess or both. I have given a lot of thought to the villain of the series and put a lot of work into him. He is evil and he wants the crystal’s power for himself but the way I’ve written him is a bit unusual I think. The way I see him is someone who has had his entire world taken from him with no remorse, even though it wasn’t intentional. I wanted him to have a reason for being the way he is and not give him the cliché image of being evil just for the sake of it. There’s always a reason regardless of how big or small.

The priestess was, and is, a lot of fun to write too. To put it simply, she’s a normal girl with a huge responsibility. She likes to go out with her friends, have fun, go shopping, drool over cute guys…a normal young woman. She’s very independent but still needs the protection of her guardians, even though they make her want to pull her hair out on a near daily basis. She can be a bit ditsy sometimes as you will see in the books, but she’s strong, smart and just loves life. She would put her own life on the line for her guardians regardless of the outcome. Her soul is pure, innocent and, every once in a while, mischievous. It’s really hard to not like her.

The Guardian Heart Crystal series exists in all worlds and on all levels of reality. It could be our world or an alternate world where creatures of darkness mingle with the humans of that particular reality. The possibilities are endless and I plan to introduce my readers to as many as I can.
